Lifecycle and Status attributes for the Regulatory Agencies Inventory
Lifecycle and Status attributes track the current operational status of each Regulatory Agency and the key dates associated with the enterprise’s regulatory relationship with it.
| Attribute Name | Maturity | Description and Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Agency Status | Crawl | Description — The current operational status of this regulatory body. Benefit(s) — Enables the inventory to distinguish active regulatory agencies from those that have been restructured, dissolved, or are in the process of being established. A dissolved agency’s historical requirements may still need to be managed for legacy compliance purposes. Source — Manual. Examples — Active, Restructured (functions transferred to another body), Dissolved, Proposed (under establishment) Notes — Valid values: Active, Restructured, Dissolved, Proposed. When an agency is Restructured, populate the Parent Agency attribute with the successor body’s Semantic ID. |
| Effective Date | Walk | Description — The date from which this agency has had jurisdiction relevant to the enterprise — either the agency’s establishment date or the date the enterprise first became subject to its jurisdiction, whichever is later. Benefit(s) — Supports longitudinal compliance history analysis and audit defensibility. If a regulatory examination covers a specific period, the Effective Date establishes when the enterprise’s compliance obligations to this agency began. Source — Manual. Examples — 2018-05-25 (GDPR enforcement date for EU data protection authorities), 2025-01-17 (DORA effective date for EU financial sector regulators), 2024-07-01 (date enterprise first became subject to jurisdiction) |
| Last Verified Date | Walk | Description — The date on which this agency record was last verified for accuracy — confirming the agency is still active, its jurisdiction is unchanged, its leadership is current, and its contact information is correct. Benefit(s) — Enables identification of stale records. Regulatory agencies reorganize, merge, and change their requirements frequently. A record not verified within the past year may contain outdated jurisdiction scope, contact details, or enforcement posture. Source — Manual. Notes — For Tier 1 compliance priority agencies, Last Verified Date should be no more than 90 days old. For lower priority agencies, annual verification is the minimum. |
