Value Streams Inventory and Attributes
Chapter 35. Understand the relationship between the Value Streams Inventory and the Data and Information Inventory
Value streams consume input data and produce output data. The Data and Information Inventory and Attributes governs the Data and Information Types of the enterprise. In the Value Streams Inventory, the Key Input Data and Information and Key Output Data and Information attributes record the data a value stream consumes and produces, referencing the Data and Information Types the Data and Information Inventory defines.
This relationship enables data lineage at the level of value delivery: it shows which value streams are the authoritative producers of which data, and which value streams depend on which data as input. That lineage supports impact analysis when a data source changes and clarifies which flows of value are affected by a data quality problem.
